Bringing the magic of theatre to audiences in new and imaginative ways is something we’re always excited about. Lost in Pantoland was a perfect example.
Pace Theatre Company approached us to help bring their Christmas production, Lost in Pantoland, to audiences in a completely new way. With in-person attendance still restricted at the time, they wanted to reimagine the pantomime experience for viewers at home – combining the excitement of a live show with the creative possibilities of digital production.
The aim was to deliver multiple performances filmed entirely in front of a green screen, streamed live to audiences who could interact in real time, and supported by pre-recorded VT segments that added extra storytelling depth.
We designed and delivered a full production setup tailored for theatrical performance, blending broadcast-quality filming with creative virtual production techniques. Every performance of Lost in Pantoland was captured entirely in front of a green screen, enabling us to create imaginative digital worlds and enhance the storytelling in ways not possible on a traditional stage.
Our experienced crew – including a director, vision mixer, sound engineer, video editor, camera operators, and production assistants – worked together to capture each performance with a multi-camera setup, switching angles live and ensuring the energy of the show translated perfectly on screen.
We also filmed and edited VT sections to integrate into the production, providing seamless transitions, added context, and creative storytelling moments that enhanced the audience experience. Importantly, the production allowed real-time interaction from viewers at home, helping retain the unique connection and atmosphere that pantomime is known for.
While this project was designed as a live-streamed experience, it highlights the breadth of what we can offer theatre and live performance clients today – from multi-camera filming and creative green-screen production to capturing live shows with broadcast-ready visuals and storytelling content.
